Dear Mr. Maclagan
It is with great thankfulness that I write to let you know that I have got through the Finals. The results are just out.
With regard to the future, I have no definitive plans, as owing to the uncertainty it was impossible to make any. At the moment I feel the need of a holiday.
It only remains for me to say that I hope the “EP” will be able to take me on, and that as far as I am concerned, the same I go East, the more I shall be pleased. It may be difficult to get a job which would give real experience. Though if I find one going – well, I suppose, so much the better.
Meanwhile, I shall be glad to know how I stand with your society.
Tonight’s news leaves me feeling very grateful + humble. I have more to be thankful for than anyone can understand + I hope I can make good.

成績剛放榜，我心懷無比感激告訴您，我期末考通過。
放眼未來，我目前因狀況不穩定難以有什麼確定計畫，現在只想放假。
我現在只能說，我很希望EP可以任用我，我只在意可以去東方，越遠越好。我感覺很難找到能給實質經驗的工作，但若我能找到就太好了。
同時，我也想知道貴傳道會對我評價為何。
今晚消息讓我感恩及謙卑，我有更多需值得我去感恩的事情了，希望我不辜負大家所望。
