Dear Dr. Maclagan,
Thanks for your letter, today received. I have just written to Dr. Stannus; he will arrange an appointment at any time.
With regard to seeing you, I hope to be along on Monday next, say 2:30 PM. I must however qualify this by saying “if fit”, as there has unfortunately been signs of recurrence since reaching England. So far these have not been severe, perhaps because of the medicines I have, I am also in a stranger state of health than when we left Hong Kong, having put on 6 or 7 lbs on the voyage.
I trust Mr. Graham is well on the way to recover. My own folk are all well, I am glad to say.

　感謝你的來信，我今日收到了。我剛剛寫信給Stannus醫生，他隨時可安排會面的時間。
　有關於我們倆相見的事情，我希望可以安排下週一下午2:30與你碰面。我想在這邊先說清楚（前提是我身體狀況還行），很不幸，我回英國後，我身體病狀似乎復發，目前可能因服藥關係，所以病情不嚴重。自從離開香港後，我身體狀況也感覺頗微妙，竟然也胖了6或7磅。
　我相信Graham先生會早日康復，好在我家人也健康平安。
