Dear Dr. Maclagan,
In view of the sentiments expressed in the enclosed letter which I received this week, I beg to withdraw my previous offer to return to Shoka in the Spring.
Of course if the Committee think otherwise, I am at their service.
It is gratifying to know that the quiescent state of affairs & also the state of Dr. Landsborough’s health seem to indicate that there is no great urgency at present.
I will be obliged if you will note the contents of this (enclosed) letter, which I have reason to believe is in the nature of being “official”.
I.E. inspired by Mission Council – p. then kindly to return same to me.
Yours sincerely,
R.H. Mumford

Maclagan
