Dr. James Maxwell (1836-1921) was the very first Scottish medical missionary appointed to Taiwan by the Presbyterian Church of England.
He arrived in Taiwan in 1865 and established a medical mission house in Tainan. He married Mary Anne Goodall on 7 April 1868 in Hong Kong. 1871 return to the UK.
