Son of Dr. James L. Maxwell, arrived in Taiwan in 1901 as a medical missionary. He was an expert doctor for Leprosy. In the Spring of 1923, he received a new mission assignment and went to Shanghai, where he was the executive secretary of the Chinese Medical Missionary Association.
