In June 1928, a 13-year-old kid, Zhou Jinyao, his right leg injured by accident, The wound could not recover for a long time. Three months later, he was sent to Changhua Christian Hospital, Dr. Robert Harold Mumford, and Canadian Nurse missionary Miss Isabel Elliot took care of him in the beginning.
Dr. David Landsborough III returned to the hospital after his vacation and began to look for medical solutions to prevent young Zhou from being Amputation. He discovered from medical books that the state-of-the-art skin transplant method might be able to heal the injured area.
Dr. Landsborough and his wife, Marjorie Landsborough, prayed together, and Marjorie decided to donate her skin for transplantation to young Zhou. Dr. Landsborough took 4 pieces of skin from Marjorie's right calf and transplanted it into Zhou Jinyao's wound. Although the first skin graft surgery was unsuccessful, Dr. Landsborough successfully avoided amputation by using Zhou Jinyao's own skin graft in the second operation.
After Zhou Jinyao recovered from his injury, Dr. Landsborough and his wife helped him pay for his studies and also helped him enter Tainan Theological College. Because of the great love that Dr. Landsborough and Marjorie sacrificed themselves for, Zhou Jinyao also accepted Christ as the Savior.
After graduating from the seminary, he served as a pastor. He once served as the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan and served God throughout his life.
